He worked for two years in the general surgery department in the Military Medical Academy and the Cardiac Surgery department in the Lozenetz base in Sofia, Bulgaria. From 1992 to 2006, he worked as a thoracic surgeon in the specialized hospital for the active treatment of lung diseases “Sveta Sofia”. He has two specializations: general surgery and thoracic surgery.

He is fluent in Russian and English.
