PhD Rosen Ikonomov, MD graduated in medicine from the Medical University – Sofia in 1987. From 1987 to 1991 he works at the Neurological Ward at СКК – town of Kyustendil as an intern physician and subsequently, as a head of ward. As of 1991 he is an assistant professor at the Neurology Clinic of the Medical Institute at the Ministry of Interior, and from 1998 to 2012 he is a chief assistant professor at the same clinic. In 1992 he is awarded a specialty in neurological diseases; in 2004 he successfully defends a PhD thesis and acquired the title of PhD in medicine. He completes post-graduation qualification courses in otoneurology evoked potentials and diagnostics and treatment of multiple sclerosis. In 2010 he has been granted a certificate in otoneurology. He specializes in the field of neurology and otoneurology in Germany, France and Spain. He is a long-year lecturer to students in medicine and kinesitherapy and specializing students in neurology diseases. He has authored over 70 publications and scientific communications in Bulgaria and abroad. He is a member of the editorial board of Medical Review magazine, of the Bulgarian Neurology Society, of the European Neuro-otology Association, and of Mensa International. He heads the neurology ward of MHAT Sofiamed as of its establishment.
